Koh Chang is one of Thailand's most beautiful islands with long white sandy beaches, most half deserted. The island is also home to a wide range of wildlife, including a good selection of birds, snakes, deer, and a number of elephants. Herbs and Spices are an essential part of Thai cooking. Used in combination, they help achieve a balance of the four essential Thai tastes: salty, sour, spicy, and sweet. All the balance foods are available in this island. Nearly every Thai recipe begins with a paste. While it is possible to buy ready-made Thai pastes (such as red, yellow, and green curry), these packaged spice mixes will not give you the same flavor and aroma—not to mention nutrients—as a paste made from scratch. Menus are similar to the rest of Thailand, but an island-surcharge is high not so much due to higher transportation cost but because of tourist development.

There are many restaurants on any given beach open both daytime and evening with a strong concentration of tourist-minded facilities in White Sand Beach. The drink you have to try is Beer Chang, even if it’s only for the name, and if you wish to sample the famous "Changover" the following day. If you have a busy schedule ahead of you, better stick to Tiger Beer as it doesn't give as much of a headache (yet it is slightly more expensive). Each village offers something different, but taken as a whole, Koh Chang's nightlife is fairly mellow compared to other islands. The beaches of Koh Chang are all dotted with restaurants dishing up some delicious seafood as well as offering romantic evening views. And don't forget to try Koh Chang's very own wine which comes in a variety of fruity flavors including: mangosteen, pineapple and grape. Koh Chang meals typically consist of a single dish if eating alone, or rice (khao in Thai) with many complementary dishes served concurrently and shared by all. It is customary to serve more dishes than there are guests at a table.

The famous food Thai cuisine is available here with very cheap price. Blending elements of several Southeast Asian traditions, Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components. The spiciness of Thai cuisine is well known. Thai cuisine is known for its balance of three to four fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: sour, sweet, salty, and bitter.
