Any massage, occurring in any form, has obvious benefits to the human body, in that it relaxes the body, helps kick-start the circulation of oxygen, which also helps with blood circulation but, more importantly, a massage can help to release some tension in the muscles and solve problems that would otherwise seem to need medical attention, like migraines, joint and muscle pains.


Specialized massages solve specific problems though, like the Thai massage, which obviously originated in Thailand, as the name suggests, but is widely believed to have initially originated in India and undergone some modification and standardization in Thailand.


The Thai Massage is a bit different to traditional massages, with the focus more on getting the body functioning properly again, by restoring the natural range of motion, which in turn opens up a gateway into a lot of other health benefits.


These health benefits include a deeper level of relaxation, which naturally reduces stress levels more rapidly, improves the circulation of oxygen in the blood, increases energy levels, increases flexibility and has effects which spill over into the mental area, resetting the bearings of the mind and synchronizing it with the body.


For one to really feel the full benefits of a Thai massage though, they are encouraged and advised to have a Thai massage more than once, with frequency playing a very important role in the overall effectiveness of the massage.


It doesn't have to be too many times though since it is quite intensive, but at least 2-3 times a week is ideal.


The typical Thai massage lasts for 1-2 hours, but no more than that, with the times varying according to the masseuse and their level of skill and experience.


Since Thai massages are quite vigorous, they should not be administered under circumstances where the recipient has open wounds or infectious skin diseases, even though the clothes are traditionally kept on during a Thai massage.
